Day 6: Off Again!?

Some words to explain why we spent 2 days in Bangor:

We found out that there was no avgas at Goose Bay, which was where our survival gear is to be collected. That meant we had enough fuel to get there, but not enough to get out to the next stop. Very disappointing, since we’d worked hard to get 2 days ahead of plan.

I knew that George Lungley* was coming down from Goose Bay fairly soon in his Cirrus SR22, perhaps he could bring our gear down. Then some doubt as to whether US Customs would declare it commercial trading, importing – exporting.

Next day, still no fuel, but hints of – it’s coming soon. Fly up there and wait? Better to stay in BGR.

Today we are going to depart, can’t afford to waste any more time here.

*George is a Sherburn Aero Club member, we’ve been discussing the trips for months. His a/c is N220AM if people want to see his tracks on FlightRadar24 or FlightAware. He arrived late yesterday.

Last night’s meal…

In the restaurant. “What beers do you have?”  With an interesting name like that, I couldn’t resist:
